Building and pest inspections in Kangaroo Point
Kangaroo Point is mostly apartments, from 1960s and 1970s brick walk ups to towers with city views, plus a few remaining timber homes and townhouses on the peninsula. Most of our inspections here are units.
Homes in Kangaroo Point
Older brick blocks often have tired balconies, original aluminium windows and bathrooms that have been retiled over the top of old waterproofing. Newer towers tend to be in better shape, but we still check wet areas closely because that is where expensive problems usually hide.
What we look at closely in Kangaroo Point
- Balcony membranes, falls to drains and balustrade fixings
- Bathroom leaks into adjoining rooms and the unit below
- Cracking in masonry walls and around window frames
- Visible common property where accessible
- Timber pest check for ground floor and garden units
Local things to know
Some streets close to the river were affected by past floods, while units on the cliffs are well above flood level. Either way, ask for the body corporate records and check the Brisbane City Council Flood Awareness Map for the specific building.
